About RDS
RDS is a private firm that provides specialised consulting in radiation protection, radiation monitoring, radioactive-waste management, and radiation-protection training services to the uranium mining and petroleum industries worldwide.
In 1997 RDS commenced the development of radiation monitors and radiation-detection-based process-control systems for the uranium mining industry. In all system designs, RDS draws on inputs from health physicists, geologists, and process engineers.
The principal of the firm is a nuclear engineer with a PhD in experimental nuclear physics and over thirty-five years of experience in the radiation-protection industry. He is a member of the American Health Physics Society and the Australian Radiation Protection Society.

What we offer
- Radiation monitoring — microprocessor-based monitors for radon, radon daughters and gamma radiation, designed for continuous and spot use indoors and outdoors.
- Process control — radiometric discriminators, scanners and gauges that grade uranium ore on trucks, conveyors, drill holes and at packaging.
- Specialised radiation-safety consulting — Radiation Management Plan development, pre-operational background assessments, computer modelling of radon dispersion and underground ventilation, and field services with passive and semi-passive nuclear-track instruments.
